United Biochemicals receives its ISO 9001:2000 certification
We are pleased to announce that effective July 14, 2006 we have attained our ISO 9001:2000 certification. This marks an important milestone for United Biochemicals. We have invested extensive time and effort to develop a quality management system that provides our customers with quality products and services on which they can rely. Our ISO registration is proof that our quality system meets an internationally recognized standard on which many of our customers have built their businesses. United Biochemicals will continuously improve upon this system to assure that we meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.
To qualify for certification United Biochemicals underwent a year long preparation process which included the refinement of our quality management system and management system documentation review. We worked to develop and challenge our quality system with internal audits and 3rd party assessments in preparation for our certification audit. This process yielded an improved system which will add value to our business and enhance our ability to serve our customers. The culmination of these efforts was a three day certification audit conducted from June 20-23, 2006 by BSI Management Systems, Inc.
Our certification illustrates that we have developed the processes to deliver on our pledge to “consistently meet our customers’ requirements for product quality and service.” This achievement provides the assurance in quality that our customers require while opening up new avenues for partnership. Our commitment to superior quality will provide the foundation upon which those partnerships are built and will drive our continued success into the future.

United Biochemicals now offering cell culture testing
United Biochemicals recently completed construction of a new cell culture laboratory. This lab will be operational starting in August 2006. The lab will perform Gross Toxicity Tests using BHK21 and VERO cell lines as well as three pass assays using SP2 cells. The lab is also equipped to perform tests on custom media formulations using the customer’s own cell lines.
Cell culture testing will be done upon request for any material to be used in cell culture media or supplements. Customers interested in cell culture testing should notify customer service or sales when placing an order.
The ability to cell culture test our products as well as manufacture liquid cell culture media supplements will allow us to better serve our customers in the life science markets with high quality pre-tested products. These capabilities allow the company to expand its product offerings into the high growth cell culture industry. We expect these investments to bring new opportunities for partnership with our customers in the cell culture industry.
