Plans for facility upgrades and investments in new liquid manufacturing equipment received financial backing from Empire State Development and US Small Business Administration. The renovations support UBI's startegic growth and continuous improvements to satisfy customer requirements. UBI readies introduction of new buffer products
United Biochemicals has a long history of manufacturing and supplying biological buffers, particularly Tris HCl and HEPES. New capital investments support the expansion of our product lines to include sodium salt versions of the following traditional buffers:

Quality Management System certified to ISO 9001:2008
Representatives from BSI Management Systems were on-site for a comprehensive ISO audit and determined our Quality Management System complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 for the design, manufacture and repackaging of biological buffers, amino acids and liquid biochemical reagents. Originally registered in 2006, this latest certificate of registration will be valid until 2012.

United Biochemicals has teamed with Advanced Scientifics to offer customized packaging for UBI's liquid business segment. UBI offers life sciences solutions with formulation, testing and packaging customized to customer requirements. UBI's state-of-the-art liquid manufacturing facility provides flexible batch sizes, sterile filtered aseptic processing, microbiological and cell culture testing all with GMP process controls. This collaboration allows for increased packaging customization capability since Advanced Scientifics specializes in biocontainer manufacturing. UBI is a complete “one-stop-shop” for life sciences customers requiring custom liquid products.

United Biochemicals successfully implements new ERP system
United Biochemicals began utilizing a new SAP Business One software system on January 5, 2009. With the help of Insyte Consulting, a designated NIST Manufacturing Extention Partnership organization, we streamlined several business processes to improve visibility to project controls, inventory and production scheduling. This transition also supports our continuous improvement efforts to unify and better integrate sales, CRM, manufacturing, warehouse management and many other key financial accounting processes.
